Question about CHATUCHAK Weekend Market, Bangkok..?

Is it open only on weekends Sat-Sunday? or everyday of the week? I'm there on 24-29 Jan to get furniture shipped back home. Any suggestions as to where to get cool/clic furniture (Only in Bangkok) besides Chatuchak? I've been told by my stylist friends to walk Silom Road...for great designer-looking furniture....
