How do I get him back? Without pushing him away?
I feel for you & your situation....there are obviously feelings involved on both parts & it is a complicated situation at that. I think he needs some time to figure this out on his own. I wouldn't contact him, it might make things more difficult since he said he needs time. I think he is torn between his kids & you. He is trying to be a good father but also has feelings for you. As hard as it is & will be...for now, I would go on w/ my life...fill your life with your family & your friends...find new hobbies or start up old ones to keep your mind elsewhere & keep yourself busy. I know it will be hard & will be easier said than done. But this will show him that you are serious & are giving him his time & space to figure out what he needs to do. In all fairness to you...don't stop your life...as much as you love & care for him..don't stop going out w/ friends or having a good time...and if someone else comes along in the mean time...see what happens. You can't stop your life. The saying goes...."if you love something, set it free...if it comes back, it was meant to be" Also..."everything happens for a reason" & "absence makes the heart grow fonder" All these quotes are very true...as I am living proof that it is and I'll tell you why...I found the love of my life...we were together 3 1/2 yrs ago & the timing wasn't right then but we got back together 15 months ago and it's better than ever now...he realized over the years that he missed me & that he wanted us to be together again after he hurt me so badly by walking out of my life due to issues he was dealing w/ on his end...I was devestated...he has repeatidly apologized & has reured me that he will never walk away from me again...he is my soul mate & the love of my life and we are very happy together. Remember...everything happens for a reason....just believe! Stay strong & good luck!
